Email is a primary outlet for photo sharing.Chinese mainly use domestic email accounts (80%) as their primary email address.Netease (163.com) is the most frequently used email provider of these.58% of our panel reports that Netease is their primary account.
With domestic companies already taking the lion鈥檚 share of the market in terms of usage, attempting to enter this market can seem intimidating.However,93% of our panelists also report that they would be willing to register another email account as long as it provided them with the services they wanted in regards to photo sharing.
As most email accounts nowadays are free to register and use, it was quite interesting to note that nearly half of our panelists would be willing to pay for an email account. The key to turning this demographic into a viable business opportunity is, like anything else, understanding the consumer and what their triggers are to get them to latch on.
