Interesting to notice is the main reason for purchasing an SUV is to use their new cars to travel around China. As travel become one of the most popular leisure time activities in China, the resuls show similar trends towards the rising popularity of driving vacations compared with more tradtional ways such as joining a tour group. This trend is especially strong among SUV buyers, which is not surprising since respondents find SUVs safer than other car models.

The SUV buying trend can also be attributed to the versatility of this class of cars but also to its rugged image as a “Go Anywhere” and “Do Anything” car which might be seen as safer for vacation road trips.
